Split Driftwood and Seaglass Statement Light Sculpture - SOLD
This piece is now sold - I am working on more pieces which will be available soon.
Created from a beautiful piece of chunky driftwood plank which has been churned and distressed by the sea and lovingly set with 211 individual pieces of natural seaglass, this lamp is totally unique and will add drama and interest to any interior.
The stacks of sea glass are backlit with LED bulbs to give a beautiful glow which is even more dramatic in low level lighting - but the piece is equally as beautiful without the lighting effect, when the texture and natural frosted aqua tones of the seaglass create the interest.
The wood has been cut to give aesthetically balanced dimensions and is bolted together with distressed bolts to add to the tide-washed, salt-weathered effect.
I must admit to being a purist and a bit of a pedant when it comes to driftwood and seaglass – I collect all my driftwood and seaglass from beaches near my home - the shapes you see are the shapes that nature created. Other than washing and treating wood for “hitch-hikers” I like to use it as I found it!
LED lights have an estimated 25,000 hours of life and run off 240V mains power.
This piece is pretty heavy and should be moved carefully – it may crack and/or damage flooring if dropped!
